I left the Draper Street practice feeling positive, confident and I believed I could do it. Finally I was on the road to a size 14, Carolina had led me down the pathway which in turn became the most successful path I had ever taken, the path to good health. For years I had struggled with my weight, joining every organisation imaginable believing that their way was going to be the right way. I was replacing meals with shakes, eating frozen meals that had been delivered to my door, and even attempting cleansing diets that had me craving food within hours. I needed an eating plan that would work and finally I had found it.

My new life had begun, Carolina had carefully guided me through the eating plan and I knew things were going to change. Little did I know they were going to change so quickly. Within a week I had lost just over 4kg, every morning I would weigh myself and nearly explode with excitement. I couldn’t believe what the scales were saying. One morning I actually asked my flatmate to jump on, just to make sure they were right. How could this be so easy?

Day One and two were a dream, the gorge was like my last supper. I was convinced that I was going to be hungry and crave food but to my surprise it wasn’t so. Eating and living organic felt so good and has since become a big part of my life. I couldn’t believe my energy levels, my body was responding positively to this eating plan and my weight was reducing dramatically. And then another 4kg easily fell away, before I knew it I had lost 11kg and I was feeling amazing. Within weeks I was fitting into
my skinny jeans, to my surprise these jeans soon became way too big. Everyone was noticing, the many compliments were fuelling me to go further.
My girlfriends were knocking down Carolina’s door, they too experienced the dramatic weight loss through this eating plan.

I have just survived a very busy Christmas break and I have managed to maintain my weight. I have reduced my weight by 20kg and am feeling the best I have ever felt. If I had known how easy and successful this eating plan was going to be I would have walked through those doors many, many years ago.

Thank you Carolina for making me feel the best I could possibly be.

I am forever grateful. xx

Yes, I am so proud of you Tilly*

Tilly is a very pretty 30 year old lady I met 9 months ago on our first consultation. I asked Tilly this one very important question, “what would you like if there were no limitations?”

Tilly pondered this question and replied:
“I want to be comfortable and happy in my own skin.”
“I need to reduce my weight by 10kg.”
“Connect with a career path so that I can fulfill my desire to be of service to others.”

So we spoke about diet, exercise and mental space. I planted the seed of a weight reduction protocol which is calorie controlled, effective and guarantees you will lose 9 kg of visceral fat in 21 days.

A few months went past and still the weight was not moving. Tilly asked me about the protocol and I explained to her you need to be 100% committed. You will reduce fat by 200-400 grams daily.

You also need to detoxify your household, washing detergents, personal care products such as toothpaste, moisturizers, shampoo, conditioner, shaving gel and make up.

Forty days later, I saw Tilly at an event and it was like meeting a new person. Her skin is glowing; she has dropped 3 dress sizes and is smiling again. She looks glamorous and I can see her inner happiness shining through.

I met with Tilly yesterday and she has confirmed all 3 of her wishes have been granted! Tilly has just enrolled into a nutrition course, she has lost the 10kg and life is good!

In our last consult, it was time to dream a new list of dreams.

If you could have anything, what would that be?

Hi,

I just wanted to call you and let you know that, I gave birth to a healthy boy last Friday. The birth was very quick. I got into hospital at 8am and he was born by noon.

I wanted to thank you.

Emily*

My heart skipped a beat and melted. I felt extremely honoured.

It was 10 months ago when I received a called from Emily*. A family member had recommended she give me a call regarding fertility. Emily already had a 5 year old but was trying for a second child. After 3 years of trying to fall pregnant naturally, Emily decided to start IVF.

Her IVF journey lasted 2 years and it was in December of that year that her IVF doctor recommended acupuncture to increase her chances of conception. That was when Emily came to see me, it was the 22 October 2010, it was day 10 of her cycle. Her consultation included acupuncture, meditation, massage together with herbs and supplements. The clinic then closed for Christmas but by the New year, I got a very special call from Emily letting me know she had fallen pregnant naturally and that she was due in September.

Wow! I was so happy for her!

Since that call, I have enjoyed seeing her body change, grow and receive all the updates of her pregnancy. Her treatments with me during her pregnancy included acupuncture, supporting and alleviating symptoms of sciatica and constipation which are common during pregnancy.

Today, was a great day. I love being part of such JOY! We congratulate you Emily and wish you a loving journey as a family of 4.

A vivacious, gorgeous, 32 year old girl is feeling run down, tired and stressed from a divorce proceeding.

Mixed feelings arise as there is great freedom in knowing that it’s time to let go of an unhappy marriage. The mixed feelings comes form the uncertainty of what will happen, the hope that there will be a deep connection with another person when the time is right - anticipation, excitement and sometimes even fear arises. Just like a rollercoaster, the journey is full of ups and downs.

The sugar cravings kick in and weight gain is inevitable. It’s sometimes so hard to get out of bed. Physical and emotional exhaustion sets in!

How are your vitamin D levels? I asked Amy* this 2 months ago. Low levels of vitamin D include symtoms such as, exhaustion, unexplained lows all the time even though positive steps are taking place and weight gain. We are just coming out of winter and 85% of Melbourneans will be Vitamin D deficient.

I received Amy’s* the Vitamin D report and the levels were 24. I sigh! However, I am relieved as we have a real cause for what Amy* is experiencing and something we can definitely address through supplements. For a 32 year old, this reading is shocking! I would expect the levels to be 120 Nmol/l.

The recommended dose of a Vitamin D supplement is of 5000 iu. The results are amazing; this gorgeous women starts to come back to her happy, healthy self again. The weight is dropping off, cravings for carbohydrates and over eating dissipates and the body is getting back into balance.

I was welcomed by an extremely happy Amy* this afternoon as her body is feeling better and better!

Have you had your vitamin levels tested lately? If so, what are your levels?

There was indulgent Europe followed by 8 weeks of a dreary winter. Vitamin D was scarce and movement was limited resulting in an expanding waistline. It was definitely time to detox!

Today is day 9 of my 14 day detox and I have given up starches as in pasta, bread, cakes, potato & crackers. I have also parted ways with sugar. I don’t buy sugar nor do I add sugar to any of my drinks but it gets into my diet in other ways. I have cut out honey, wine and fruits high in sugar such as bananas or grapes, instead I have been enjoying organic strawberries and the occasional apple.

I am more aware of my portion sizes and I am also noticing that I am actually getting hungry, and I suspect I will be until my body catches on that we will longer be overeating. I have told my friends and staff at work that I am detoxing and resetting my waistline and weight. This process takes a couple of days and my body remembers that 6 small meals are actually enough.

The supplements I am taking are also helping the detox process and by day 4 I felt a lot lighter, my head was clearer and my clothes felt comfortable again. Most importantly, I am no longer bloated. Phew!!!

I have realized I enjoy detoxing and will commit to doing this every 6 months; there are so many benefits to giving your body an opportunity to cleanse itself such as weight reduction, increased energy, improved sleeping patterns, stronger digestion, mental clarity and much more.

How often do you detox?

So I feel a little bit like Carrie Bradshaw right now, but I promised my wife I would write this down. I am currently at a conference on the Gold Coast and from the moment I got here my outlook and behaviour changed.

So, like Carrie, I asked myself.

“Why am I am better person on holiday than in my day to day life?”

Immediately I feel different. I start making better food choices, enjoying healthy, tasty, whole food. I enjoy meeting and spending time with new acquaintances at the conference. I start thinking about taking my wife away for a weekend, taking my daughter Alannah to Chile…ideas come flooding in. I experience moments of clarity, my thinking is elevated and of course the old cliches return like taking runs along the beach and hitting the gym.

So, why? Who is this person that comes out on holidays and conferences? Why do I feel, think and act so differently?

More importantly, and I am sure there are many people out there who would also love to know, how can I hold onto that feeling? How do I bottle it and take it home with me? Why do I allow myself to get caught up in a rush, with shallow thinking and shallow breathing?

For starters I recognise that at home I am constantly worrying and I may be a little obsessive compulsive, and although my wife is always in my ear about it, I still don’t make time to go to the gym, go for a run, get a massage, get acupuncture, or just relax. At work I get caught up in the detail, the struggle and the battle.

So what do I need to do, hmm…maybe the best approach is:

* Find and hardwire moments on the balcony. Start with nourishing myself, eat well, have regular massages, go for acupuncture and take my supplements consistently.

* Get more moments of flying a metaphorical helicopter over my life and work – taking a macro view; get away from the detail and make sure that I am strategically on the right path.

* Meditate/reflect/ponder – whatever you want to call it. Commit with every part of me to what I am doing. Unless my mind, body and spirit agree it’s probably not right.

* Slow down and enjoy the ride!

What other tips do you have? I would love to hear if you feel this way too, and any ideas….

Tonight we concluded our workshop on Create the Life You Love – I love this workshop!

It has been an absolute pleasure sharing, learning, teaching and uncovering behaviours, beliefs and limitations in these last 8 weeks. In doing so, clarity, peace, joy and self-worth were just a few of the qualities we rediscovered!

Here are the gems of the course:

1. Own your happiness and give up the ‘blame game’ – regain your power.

2. Language – where do you use positive language? Where do you find yourself using negative language? For example, one of the participants shared that a family members always says “I’m not bad”, when asked how they are feeling. How are you at authentically expressing your feelings?

Spring has arrived. The sun is out and the temperature is just lovely – most of the time.

My first born has turned 6 and after much thought we have welcomed a puppy called Pedro into our lives.

We are definitely ready for a pet in our lives. So the research began as there are a few conditions that need to be met. Firstly, I wanted a child friendly dog, low maintenance, small and cute. So I hopped onto Google and search for ‘dogs for lazy people’ and there were 10 dogs on the list! All of them were gorgeous and when I got to the bottom of the list, I found the smallest of all of them – my heart skipped a beat. I came across a Puggle, a cross between a pug and a beagle – so adorable!

My girls have always wanted a dog but because Mario and I work fulltime it wouldn’t be fair to have a dog locked up at home all day. Life is wonderful and full already, we didn’t need an added responsibility and could I really be a responsible pet owner? I checked within. To my surprise the answer was a resounding YES!

So I hopped onto Goggle again to find a reputable breeder and found the most pleasant, cutest little pal.

My husband picked him up on our daughter’s 6th birthday; it was an instant love affair! Yes, I know it’s just a DOG we are talking about.

They say that dogs choose their owners. Pedro has chosen well. Our social engagements are now planned around Pedro, who would have thought?

Puppies are meant to be mischievous. Well not Pedro, he is totally scoring brownie points as he is a true pleasure. He is like our lucky charm. A little superstar in the making. Wherever we go, people come over for a chat and take a snap to show their family and friends. Pedro laps up the attention and my 4 year old daughter Alannah loves answering all questions about the dog.

At 6am this morning, Alannah and I took Pedro for a walk, it was great bonding time for the three of us!

Just like that my heart has connected with man’s best friend and it has been rather surprising how we as a family, have embraced the new joys and responsibilities that come with being a pet owner. Are you a pet person? Do you love your pet? Please post photos of your beloved!
